A trailing plant that will climb and twine if given support. A member of the pea family, it has pea-like flowers and attractive compound leaves. This native of the northeastern U.S. is great for covering a large trellis and will grow several feet tall each season. The nutritious, walnut-sized tubers are cooked like potatoes.
