All of the milkweeds are excellent butterfly nectar plants and also serve as the sole food source for Monarch caterpillars. This species has very showy umbels of reddish orange flowers. It is, unfortunately, not very hardy, but can be grown as an annual in cold climates or as a potted plant brought inside for the winter.
