A tall, handsome, clump forming plant. The leaves are divided and threadlike and strongly scented. The umbels of yellowish flowers attract many pollinating insects and it is a caterpillar food plant for the Anise Swallowtail (see photograph). The seeds, stems, and leaves are culinary and medicinal.
