A large plant that will spread as wide as it is tall. The leaves are velvety with a tinge of purple. The long clusters of reddish pink flowers in late summer and autumn are very showy. The unopened buds are just as pretty as the opened flowers. It does well in partial shade. Attracts hummingbirds.
