All of the milkweeds are excellent butterfly nectar plants and also serve as the sole food source for Monarch caterpillars. The leaves of this species are large and velvety white. The flower umbels are light pink, and the large warty pods are great in dried arrangements. This is the wide leaved milkweed most often seen in the western U.S. Needs a well-drained soil.
